KEEPING US BUSY RIGHT NOW

Long-ignored, misused, and unloved or simply just at the end of a very long to-do list, our gardens and outdoor spaces have become more important than ever since the pandemic hit..

Here at Spark, this new focus on making our outdoor spaces a soothing retreat, an engaging workspace, or somewhere to welcome friends and family again has really kept us busy.

It's seen us working on designs for tiny city courtyards to expansive country gardens, making every bit of space space work for our clients and bringing nature right up to their doors.

Oh, and we threw in a show garden for good measure…

GARDEN AS GIFT

Mums are always wonderful, but when they treat you to a garden redesign, well, they take special up a notch. This garden will be the very definition of perfect presents coming in small packages. Bijou but beautiful, practical yet elegant, it really is the gift that will keep on giving.

WOODS, WALES & WABI

Dark, dank and rarely used, this garden is home to a large erstwhile 'summerhouse' and not much else. But that's OK: weaknesses can be turned into strengths. So we plan to turn it into a Japanese-inspired woodland glade with nods to the client's homeland. And make it the perfect workplace to boot.

A PLACE TO MEET

Under normal circumstances our gardens would be full of friends, family and fun. They will be again. And this garden, with its multiple seating & eating, chatting & kick-back-relaxing areas, will be ready to welcome all comers.

UP ON THE ROOF

Tucked away in a quiet courtyard, off a busy urban street is a roof terrace in need of some love. We're giving it a sprinkle of Spark magic.

BYE, BYE RATTY...

A pretty but practical space is set to replace the wind-blown & human-thrown litter; tangled ivy and Lost World-sized acanthus in the front garden of an elegant Camberwell town house. And the resident rats have been given their marching orders too.

"TAKE ME HOME"

The Peak District is the inspiration for our latest project. The client's longed-for home, evoked in a London back garden. Gently wooded dales, wildly windswept moors and a place for a rambler to rest are our cues for a sociable, contemporary space at ease in its urban context

OUT COME BUBBLES

Hot tubs. They ain't pretty but they are fun. And with two energetic boys to keep occupied this garden is going to get one. So it's now up to us to take this single requirement and design a gorgeous garden around it. We're thinking bubbles...

"PLANT IT TO DEATH"

It's not every day you get a request like that, but we didn't need asking twice. We're filling this garden to the gills with beds, borders, bulbs and bees...lots of bees. It seems we aren't the only ones who can't resist such a tempting invitation
